Gotham Media Ventures is a New York based conference, information and business development company. Gotham produces events that focus on sectors of the economy experiencing rapid growth and revolutionary change. In 2007, Gotham launched a number of quarterly series focusing on cutting edge sectors of the world economy, including: the Security Tech Breakfast (NY, DC), the Cyber Security Breakfast, the Digital Breakfast, the Israeli Tech Breakfast and the Advertising Business Breakfast. The company also produces events and seminars commissioned by corporations and non-profits, including the Ford Foundation, the New York State Court of Appeals and the National Association of State Legislatures.
Gordon Platt is the Founder and President of Gotham Media. He is an attorney, television producer and was the Executive Producer of the Poliak Center for First Amendment Issues at Columbia Journalism School, where he produced the First Amendment Breakfast Series. As an investigative producer for ABC News “Nightline,” Platt investigated everything from the Iraqi arms smuggling network to BCCI to Manuel Noriega. He is the recipient of an Emmy Award for his reporting on the Oklahoma City bombing, and a Columbia-Dupont Silver Baton. He has produced independent documentaries for Discovery, the History Channel, ESPN on a wide range of subjects, from organized crime to the Coney Island Sideshow.
Platt is a graduate of Harvard Law School (admitted to practice in New York and Massachusetts), the London School of Economics and Dartmouth College. He lives with this wife and three sons in Chappaqua, New York.
