Digital Breakfast::

Covering an Economy in Crisis - Does the Media Matter?

May 6, 2009

8:30am-10:30am

Location:

Frankfurt Kurnit Klein & Selz
488 Madison Avenue
10th Floor
New York City

The media has to tell a good story or ratings suffer. But does the media move the markets? Or do the markets move the media? Does a CNBC host's floor-of-the-stock-exchange rant against Obama economic policies matter? Or, in a time of crisis, does the media have special responsibilities? Should investors and their advisors have any expectations about media coverage? This panel will focus on how the financial media have covered the economy -- and the effects of that coverage on the securities and credit markets, investor attitudes, and wealth accumulation.
